The Chinese Immersion Programs have been formed to create an environment for students to learn a second language in the exact same way as they learnt their first language. The classroom will be designed like a small Chinese town.  Student will learn the language and culture through immersion.

In this case the Chinese language is learned by being consistently used every day in the center alongside the first language.

The Chinese teacher will also convey Chinese culture alongside with learning the language.  These educators will only use Chinese language when talking with students.  This satisfies the basic principle of "one person-one language". There is no mixing of languages as the students have to clearly identify people with their language and communicate with them accordingly.  The intensity of the contact, the language, is the means of communication and interaction, and this part of socialisation covers all possible aspects of communication and forces students to focus.
